you hide your secrets(protection).
you tell people lies(fake).
they think its the truth(secrets).
and when the mask comes off?
secrets are exposed.
old lies become new truths.
old truths become new lies.
fakeness becomes protection.
protection turns to insecurity.
scars become open wounds.
you become who you weren't...
and you weren't who you are.

the rhythmic tapping of keyboard running
my being is letters
yet i cannot make words

I see you everyday and
everyday I try to throw
away all these memories
of you.
We were inseparable--
you and I
complete opposites
yet so close
like magnets
opposites attract.
The jokes that
no one but us understood
still get a chuckle from me
from time to time
but then I remember--
and stop.
The noises, the yelling
We were practically drowning
in anger and hatred
Phone calls were
absolute shit
silence for an hour
until someone finally
just hangs up
The end was
inevitable
held my hand out
one last time
and that's how
it stayed.
I found our old pictures from
back when physical photos
were a common thing
our smil
